This picture is from the same trip as the mountain flowers below. About two hours after becoming lost I sat down, looked to my right, and was incredibly surprised. I always knew trees could grow surrounded by solid rock, but never straight out a boulder.
This stubborn little tree was growing out of a very large, moss covered rock. This is one of the few times I wish the 40mm pancake was a bit faster. I was hoping to blur the rock in the foreground a little more than it is, but I like the way it came out regardless.
